Not that the game, between its base model and Reaper SKUs, is the tenth ‘best selling’ game of all time with 30 million copies sold by last count, though that has undoubtedly risen since that was reported, everyone seems to have some vague understanding that Diablo 3 sold pretty well.
The game evolved far past that, and it’s clear that there’s still room to expand even further with new content.
It is ahead of any Call of Duty game, any Pokemon game, and almost any Grand Theft Auto game except GTA It is not just a hit, it’s been a phenomenon, though one that has slid mostly under the radar. Since they’re remembering that dark first year where the Auction House was still ruining everything and drops were absolute garbage, Hell, somepeople still view the game as a failure. Loot games have never been more popular, and Diablo is some good stuff from all them.
The weirdest option of all of the is #1, and I just don’t understand why Blizzard should essentially walk away from Diablo after how successful the third game and its expansion been. The question is. Diablo? Starcraft, as further expansions for that game or numbered sequels don’t really make all that much sense given the state of RTS games in the industry at the moment. There are some other clues this may indeed be the case.
Although, blizzard is adding new areas like the Ruins of Sescheron and Greyhollow Island, that even have their own little story elements, as free updates to the game.
Whenever meaning that current director Josh Mosqueira was leaving, news broke that Blizzard was looking for a brand new Diablo 3 game director.
